Father's Day

We spent Father's day at the beach so dad could get some surfing time in ! Afterwards we headed to His parents house to have dinner with the fam ! Despite a very cranky teething baby, we still had a great day !

DIY Letters for Kids room

I feel like this little blog of mine has been suffering a little bit ever since i opened up my etsy shop and photography business. So much of my "free" time is spent making dream catchers or editing photos that I haven't had any time for DIY projects. Which is part of the reason I started this blog ! So I will certainly be bringing more crafts and recipes back to the blog ! But for now here is an old DIY I made for Kyler's room before I had him. This was posted to my old tumblr account and seems to get pinned a lot so i thought I would share it on here to !

You will need -
Letters (any kind or size works, i just used the ones they sell at paper source for  $3.95 a letter), Scrapbook paper, Scissors, x-acto knife, modge podge (i used Lineco neutral ph adhesive -also from the paper source) and a paint brush for spreading the glue.
image
image
First you want to line your letters up on the paper and cut them out in squares

image
image
Than you want to flip your scrapbook paper over so your placing the glue side down on the blank side and you want to spread the adhesive all around the letter getting close to the edges
image
Flip the letter onto the paper and smooth the paper over the letter so it sticks really well , than let all your letters dry for about 5 minutes.
image
Once they are dry take your x-acto knife and a cutting pad (if you dont have a cutting pad like me just use a piece of wood that you dont mine cutting on) and cut around the edges of your letters.
image
And thats all ! It should look like this when your done ...
image

image

So there you have it - an inexpensive and quick project! The total coast was under $30 dollars and only took about 30 minutes or less to make!

We hung ours on kyler's wall when he was just a little baby ! But now that he is one he has less of a newborn looking room which you can see HERE

Palm Springs (iphone photos)

This past weekend we had our first little couples getaway since the baby has been born! We decided some warm weather and relaxing by the pool was needed, so to Palm Springs we went ! We stayed at the La Quinta Resort and Spa and we literally spent the entire weekend by the pool! We had so much fun spending quality time together with no work or distractions, I honestly recommend every married couple to take the time to leave the work and responsibilities aside and just have a fun little get away together ! It is so good and refreshing for your marriage !

I decided not to bring my camera on the trip because I can get so distracted by taking pictures of everything! So I just brought along the trusty I phone. Here's a little peek into our weekend.

Packing //
Road Trip (every good road trip must consist of in n out!) //
Pool side relaxing//
A fire in 112 degree weather? We're not crazy we had the air blasting so we could enjoy the fire at night! //
Had to check out the infamous Ace hotel, hoping to stay there next time! //

Side note : We have this ridiculous game we play on road trips called "would you rather" where we basically think of the two worst situations possible and ask each other to pick one ! I kind of hate the game and love it at the same time! haha. We always end up laughing and having a good time tho ! What do you guys do on road trips to make the time pass? Half the fun is getting there right?! I always feel like I learn more about my husband with a good few hours in the car!
